There is a new powerful command very useful when creating closed captions - especially roll-up captions. It is called Out-cue and split text in subtitle chain.
There is no shortcut assigned when EZTitles is installed for the first time but if you intend to use this command you can easily do so from Tools/Customize/Commands.
Typing continuous text in EZTitles
You can continuously type text in EZTitles without using any commands to create new subtitles.
To set this up, open Edit->Preferences->Editing to enter Preferred number of Rows and enable Word Wrap. "1" or "2" rows is optimal for the majority of situations although you could put in any value between 1 and 10 for Open Subtitles and 1 and 14 for Closed Captions. Please keep in mind that Roll-up captions are typically required as a single text line per caption.
After that you can set In-cue for the first caption and begin typing text in. New caption automatically will be created whenever the text exceeds the specified above Preferred number of Rows. This way you can quickly create a subtitle chain with several captions in it.
Finally, when you finish translating or typing the text for this part of the material, position the video where the speech ends and run Out-cue and split text in subtitle chain command. This will set out-cue for the whole subtitles chain and after that EZTitles will automatically start to split the text from the subtitles chain into individual captions:
▪Text will be split and distributed among the captions according to several pre-configured rules in Subtitling Assistant/ Configure "Out-cue and split text".
▪Captions will be timed automatically based on the In-cue of the first caption in the chain, the Out-cue of the last caption in the chain and the reading speed and duration limits configured for your project.
