This project type is intended for use when delivering offline Closed Captions for broadcast in North America. It complies fully with the CEA-608 and CEA-708 standards as well as follows accordingly the best practices approved by FCC.

Project Type and Mode
Depending on the selected closed captions mode some functions of the program could be disabled:
CEA 708 |
CEA-708 compatible mode. All command and features are available including: colors, background colors, italics, underline and all closed captions specific presentation styles (Paint-On, Pop-On and Roll-up). |
CEA 608 |
CEA-608 compatible mode. All command and features are available with one exception: background color could not be changed, per specifications, for CEA 608 captions. |
TeleCap I |
CEA-608 compatible mode that has additional limitations: color commands are disabled as well as Paint-on captions. |
TeleCap II |
CEA-608 compatible mode that has additional limitation: color commands are disabled and cannot be used. |
SCC (DVD Closed Captions) |
CEA-608 compatible mode intended for creating captions in the Scenarist Closed Caption format used by DVD authoring systems. Only Pop-on captions are supported. |
