EZTitles offers smooth integration with all ChatGPT's text-oriented features, including writing, editing, and translation, alongside its standard chat functions. Whether you need help with a simple question, refining text or translating into another language, all text-related tasks can be handled efficiently without leaving EZTitles.
All requests are submitted from the dedicated form under Subtitling Assistant/ChatGPT Assistance for processing by the flagship GPT-4o or GPT-4o-mini (the later is used by free-tier accounts) models.
When the ChatGPT Assistant window is opened for the first time, the Content box is automatically filled with the selected text in the current subtitle or, if no text is selected, with the sentence where the cursor is placed.
Write your question or instruction for ChatGPT in the AI Prompt field. This can range from a simple query to more complex instructions for processing the text in the Content field, as shown in the picture above. Enable the Append content to request option if you want ChatGPT to perform an action on the text in the Content box.
EZTitles remembers your last few prompts, which can be accessed by clicking the button next to the Prompt field.
Once your question has been formulated, click the Execute button to receive the answer or perform the requested action on the content.
After receiving the response, press the Change button to replace the original text with ChatGPT’s suggestion. EZTitles will attempt to preserve the original line/subtitle breaks and formatting, minimizing the need for additional adjustments.
Use the Previous and Next buttons to navigate to the previous or next sentence in the Content field. Press the Sync button if you've moved to another subtitle and want to get the text at the new position.
Note: The text is processed sentence by sentence. If a sentence is split across multiple subtitles, the text from all relevant subtitles will be processed together.
ChatGPT API Key
The first time you run a query, you'll be prompted to provide your ChatGPT API key to link your ChatGPT account to EZTitles.
To get started, create an OpenAI account or sign in. Then, go to the API keys page and click the Create new secret key button at the top right. You can optionally name the key. Be sure to save it in a secure location and do not share it with anyone.
Keep in mind that if you’ve previously created an OpenAI account, your free API usage may have expired, and you’ll need to add funds to your OpenAI account to use the API key.
